What power tools do I need for handcrafting
Before buying any tools you need to ask yourself several important questions.
- What do I want to make?
- What standard or quality of finish do I want to achieve?
- How much can I afford to spend?
- Is this for a one off job or will I keep using them for other projects?
- What warranty do I get with the tools?
- Am I experienced enough to work with the tools safely?
After answering the questions you should have a much better idea of which tools you will need. You may decide that this will be a one off job so maybe the budget tools will be good enough. However the cheap tools generally speaking wont give you the best quality finish so maybe consider renting some quality tools for a few days may be a good option for you. If however you will be doing multiple projects, want a quality finish then I would certainly consider investing in a good quality branded set of tools. If its within budget then I would nearly always opt for cordless tools given the quality of the modern day batteries.
